Introducing and engaging primary school students in yellow sage planting can yield several key desired results, especially given that the yellow sage is the national flower and is becoming increasingly scarce. Here are some important outcomes we aim for:
* Students will learn about the importance of biodiversity and the role of native plants like the yellow sage in maintaining ecological balance.
They are expected to gain hands-on experience in conserving endangered species, fostering a sense of responsibility toward protecting the environment.
* By planting the national flower, students will develop a deeper connection to their cultural and national identity. They will also learn to appreciate and take pride in their country’s unique natural heritage.
* Science and Botany Knowledge: Students gain practical knowledge about plant life cycles, photosynthesis, and the specific needs of the yellow sage, coupled with other interdisciplinary learning, team work/collaboration.
* Habitat Restoration: By planting yellow sage, they contribute to restoring habitats for pollinators like bees and butterflies, which rely on native plants
* The project seeks to embolden our youth to engage in national beautification while foster a revival of the National flower. Our Beautiful Yellow Sage.
