Crochet Reef Revival - Day 2

Crochet Reef Revival - Day 2
Last year, we took the first steps in creating a crochet coral reef together—bringing together creativity, community, and environmental awareness. Along the way, we learned that this project takes time, dedication, and experienced crocheters to bring it to life truly.

This year, we’re adapting and restarting with a focused approach, inviting skilled crocheters to help build on the foundation we started. Our goal is to create a full crochet coral reef for exhibition, showcasing not only the beauty of coral ecosystems but also the stories and connections woven into every stitch.

On this Saturday, we will sit with a group to continue crocheting the reef together, with focusing on specific crochet patterns reflecting the corals of the reef. The pattern for this day will be prepared and already made on Friday by a small group, for this day we need experienced crochet hands to make more of them 'come alive'. Our goal for this day is to create a group that stitches together!
🌿 What to expect:
🧶 Advanced crochet sessions to expand the reef (so this is specifically a call out to experienced crocheters)
🌊 Inspiration from Nature Foundation St. Maarten on coral restoration
🎨 Aiming for an exhibition-ready reef to raise awareness and inspire action

If you’re an experienced crocheter and want to be part of this meaningful project, we’d love for you to join us.
If you are not (very) experienced, please keep a look out for future activities where teaching can take place.
